Publishing and writing career
Cheryl is an award-winning writer who has written articles,
essays, intros, books and plays.
She has had several plays produced on the London fringe to acclaim
and achieved her MA in Playwriting at Birmingham University.
Cheryl founded Aurora Metro Books in 1990 and was mentored by
Ros de Lanerolle of the Women's Press and Carole Spedding of
Feminist Book Fortnight.
As a publisher she has commissioned a diverse range of titles and edited over 50 books. Her work has been recognised both at the Independent Publishers' Guild where Aurora Metro Books was shortlisted for a Diversity Award and by ITV's National Diversity Awards, where she was shortlisted for a Lifetime Achiever Award.
She has published the work of over 200 authors from around the world.
